PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The EMS Internal Agency Enterprise Video Production Supervisor/Technical Director is accountable for supervising and properly equipping a team of associates who are responsible for the design, development and delivery of a range of video-related products and services to support communication efforts both internally and externally on a global scale.

In close partnership with other Internal Agency teams, shared service teams, and the business lines, the Supervisor/Technical Director is responsible for day-to day oversight of personnel, ensuring best practices are defined and followed across the various project lifecycles so that work is completed on time, on budget, to client satisfaction, maintaining appropriate levels of quality. As needed and appropriate, the incumbent will also personally manage troubleshooting incidents and manage escalation thresholds with upper management, and may participate and or lead select production activities.

The Supervisor/Technical Director serves as a strategic consultant, subject matter expert, and budget/procurement manager for any and all video production equipment and related technology activity to ensure maximum productivity, brand adherence to create a consistent experience for users. The supervisor also stays abreast of innovative technology and direction of the market place in order to enhance business deliverables and up-skills associates as appropriate.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Direction: The Enterprise Video Production Team owns and maintains a vast inventory of equipment and utilizes many enterprise and departmental technologies to provide services to the firm. The Supervisor/Technical Director will ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational, and will lead, facilitate, and participate in strategic and tactical technology-related projects in support of the goals of the Internal Agency and the Enterprise Video Production team. In partnership with the Senior Manager of Digital Production, will directly interact and consult with business units to assess current and future product and service requirements. Analyze, design, develop, and implement enhancements to existing products and services, and introduce new product and service processes and workflow systems to meet specific business needs. Research and recommend new and emerging technologies to facilitate operational effectiveness within Enterprise Marketing Services.

  • Manage budget and procurement as needed

  • Ensure technology and equipment infrastructure is always operational (hardware, software, supplies, network)

  • Advise consult, troubleshoot any and all technology-related issues

  • Manage the production of periodic metrics-related and client satisfaction reporting

Supervise the Internal Agency Enterprise Video Production Team:

Supervises a team of video production staff members. Includes interviewing/hiring, setting performance objectives and continuously coaching with the goal of elevating and improving performance. Monitors productivity and quality of the team, ensuring all customer requests are executed accurately and efficiently. Continuously assess team capabilities against shifting business needs, identifying skill and competency development opportunities. Drives and supports training and career development initiatives.

  • Regularly interact with business, Internal Agency and adjacent partners to ensure products and processes support the firm’s current and emerging video requirements

  • Daily supervision of personnel, troubleshooting, escalation

  • Process monitoring

  • Quality assurance of deliverables

  • Performance management of personnel

Producer/Director/Project Manager/Editor:

As needed and/or assigned, may be involved in specific video production assignments, activities that could include but not be limited to:

  • Consulting on project design and approach, and scheduling activity

  • Planning, recording, editing live action video

  • Animation and live action/animation hybrid projects

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Moderate to high levels of knowledge and hand-on experience with contemporary video production equipment and editing systems

  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of staff and client satisfaction with leadership style and orientation

  • Possess an approach to video production that aligns with the firm’s current brand expression

  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional team leadership and customer service orientation and abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing issues

Preferred

  • Prefer bachelor’s degree or higher in a video production-related field of study

  • Prefer PMI orientation to project management
