Are you looking for a manager that trust your judgment, allow you to work independently, and have some autonomy on your assignments? Then you need to consider joining MITRE's Advanced Technical Computing Department (T862). We are seeking an Administrative Assistant who will keep us on our toes and would enjoy supporting a geographically separated department.

Key Functions:

  • Type and assist in the preparation of correspondence (including HR forms), documents, reports, briefings according to MITRE standards. Maintain department letters and memos and files.

  • Maintain compliance of the department's Time Reporting System (TRS) and Desk Top Steward (DTS) reports.

  • Monitor Tech Stature pages and assist tech staff with keeping their information current.

  • Develop a strong sense of ongoing activities. Anticipate, analyze and proactively react to changes in priorities and tasks; apply strong self-organization and management, and demonstrate proactive initiative and follow-through on a broad range of administrative actions.

  • Assistance with organizing meetings and events, to include planning, invitations, coordination (AV, catering, security, etc.).

  • Maintain cognizance of location of staff; respond to phone calls about schedules and whereabouts, coordinate the communication with the staff when there is critical or important need.

  • Manage travel arrangements, to include general travel, security forms, coordination with the visiting locations, and alternative arrangements when the plan changes. Generate reimbursement documents in a timely manner, upon trip completion.

  • Maintain content for corporate Intranet (SharePoint). Items which include: announcements, organizational charts, calendar events and maintaining document libraries.

  • Maintain awareness of Division, Corporate and Center-specific administrative changes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Possess high school diploma with 5 years of administrative experience.

  • Ability to work independently with a professional and diplomatic demeanor.

  • Possess Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype), and Microsoft SharePoint.

  • Candidate must be detail oriented.

  • Possess excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, editing, organizational and communications skills.

  • Ability to apply common sense and good judgment in prioritizing competing priorities.

Desired:

  • Associated degree or bachelors degree

  • 10 years of related experience preferred.

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience.
