The Arc Baltimore Landscape Maintenance Lead Worker in Baltimore, Maryland

We have 2 open Landscape Maintenance Lead Worker positions. The positions are located at Seton Business Park, 6151 Metro Drive, Baltimore, MD 21215. The work schedule is Monday through Friday 7am - 3pm.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a landscape maintenance position. Employee will do mulching, mowing, trimming, shearing, pruning. Employee will use power equipment and various hand tools. Other tasks may include litter pick up, snow removal, and planting.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the Supported Worker’s rights and dignity are protected and that they have maximum opportunities to fully participate as a member of the landscape department.

  • Set the pace for Supported Workers, assisting the supervisor with the responsibility for the professional completion of assigned contracts, ensuring contract requirements are completed within allotted time.

  • Assist the supervisor in ensuring that safety policies and procedures are followed without exception.

  • Assist the supervisor with the responsibility of all equipment used on jobs, including care and safe operation, promptly reporting damage or losses.

  • Complete all agency required trainings for position.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred, but not required.

  • Landscape maintenance experience required (i.e. mowing, trimming, etc.).

  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities helpful.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds, push, pull, and carry a variety of tools, equipment, and supplies.

  • All work is outdoors year-round. Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

  • Assigned work requires use of many types of power equipment.

  • May be required to work some evenings, weekends or holidays as required by work schedule (including snow removal) or trainings.

  • Work locations are commercial, industrial, and public, including various transit systems.
