Development Engineer

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Contribute to the Philips Population Health Monitoring (PHM) business as a full-stack software developer. Philips is a global health technology company where many of the best and brightest developers can openly collaborate to build a more connected and healthier society.

You are responsible for

  • Developing software as part of an agile development team. You will actively contribute to all aspects of agile software development: planning, architecture, development, configuration management, testing, integration, verification

  • Collaborating with other experienced colleagues and participate in diverse, technology-driven projects in a highly flexible, agile and innovative environment

  • Acting on feedback from customers and internal product representatives to build software to transform people’s healthcare experience.

You are a part of

The Philips Population Health Management team that is redefining healthcare through innovation in telehealth. This innovation is developed by cross functional agile scrum teams working together to deliver that mission. The teams are characterized by a strong drive to improve continuously and empowered to work autonomously, while still supporting cross team learning, knowledge sharing, and the overall business objectives.

You will work in a start-up atmosphere while still having the support and reputation of Philips Healthcare. This position is based in Baltimore, MD.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in computer science or 5 years of equivalent work experience

  • Expertise in full stack web development

  • Strengths in C# or Java web development

  • Knowledge of jQuery, Bootstrap or similar frameworks is an advantage

  • Experience in cloud and micro-service architectures

  • Comfortable in an Agile development environment

  • A team player, eager to invest in personal and team growth

  • Strong analytical, conceptual and creative thinking skills. A problem solving and pragmatic attitude

  • Excellent communication skills to present designs to business stakeholders.
